Introduction
EquityClear® is a central counterparty (CCP) clearing service for equity based trades and equity equivalents. Both order book and off order book trades are cleared.
EquityClear® offers cash equity clearing for the London Stock Exchange and SWX Europe and equity derivative clearing for EDX, with settlement in Euroclear UK & Ireland, SIS, Euroclear Bank and DTCC. The project for clearing SWX is well advanced.
The key features of the cash service are counterparty risk management, settlement netting, high STP and counterparty anonymity. Customers enjoy reduced direct and indirect costs and risks associated with participating in cash equity markets.
The EquityClear® service is designed to continue to expand the service to new markets and CSDs and deepen the coverage through capturing the broadest possible spectrum of trades executed through an exchange.
