Announcement

Context and Summary

BLUENEXT is an environmental exchange with global ambitions. BLUENEXT was formed on 21 December 2007 when NYSE Euronext and Caisse des Depot joined forces to create the world's largest exchange for environmental-related products. With climate issues high on the green agenda and carbon becoming an internationally traded commodity, BlueNext plans to play a key role in using markets mechanisms to price and reduce grenhouse gas emissions. BLUENEXT is owned by NYSE Euronext, the majority shareholder with 60%, and Caisse des Dépôts, with 40%. NYSE Euronext has also contributed the business of Powernext Carbon, purchased from Powernext. Caisse des Dépôts has contributed its settlement business.

LCH.Clearnet SA has been requested by BlueNext to provide full CCP Services for transactions executed on the BlueNext platform including OTC clearing.

BlueNext will launch BLUENEXT FUTURES EUA, future contracts on European Union Allowances and BLUENEXT FUTURES CER, futures contracts on Certified Emission
