PC-GATS RELEASE 2.3
1. The enclosed CD contains the new release of PC-GATS (Version 2.3). This version is a compulsory update as password security has been enhanced since PC-GATS Version 2.2. PC-GATS Version 2.3 must be used from 1 December 2007, Version 2.2 of PC-GATS will not work after 30 November 2007.
2. During October and November either PC-GATS Version 2.2 or PC-GATS Version 2.3 can be used to connect to the live system. Users are encouraged to install Version 2.3 as soon as possible.
When connecting to Version 2.3 for the first time a download of all static data files must be made along with a test connection to the live environment.

3. Those users who connect directly to the central GATS system should obtain an updated version of the ‘PC-GATS Inter-System Message Protocol (GIMP) Specification’ from LCH.Clearnet’s website (http:/www.lchclearnet.com). This document should be passed to your systems department or supplier.
4. This release of PC-GATS includes changes so that passwords are no longer stored in clear text format. Instead they are kept in an encrypted format, which helps to enhance password security.
5. Enclosed on the CD is the Getting Started with PC-GATS Version 2.3 Guide and the PC Communications Configuration Document, which together provide a complete guide to the installation and configuration of the PC-GATS Software.
6. PC-GATS V2.3 will be supported on Windows 2000 and XP.
Upgrades to installations of PC GATS on Windows 98/ME/NT4 will be supported on a best endeavours basis, which may ultimately result in a recommendation to upgrade to Windows 2000 or XP.
